      Santa Claus was raised by forest nymphs? L. Frank Baum lets listeners in on the story behind Santa's annual run, explaining how Santa starting making toys and delivering them by flying reindeer. Listeners may feel like they're listening to a classic Christmas special as they hear Johnny Heller's narration. Some of the dialogue is stilted, and there's a battle with some wicked creatures who don't like happiness, but overall the storytelling is genial and relaxed. Most of the audiobook is devoted to "The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus," but the shorter "Kidnapped Santa Claus" is also included.
